- Please fill in the form to borrow laptops and video cameras for use in education or during an event. Book your AV equipment at least 5 working days before the day you need it, to ensure that your request is processed in time.
Booking AV equipment (education)
Booking AV equipment (event) - Reserve a webcam (OWL) or catchbox (mobile microphone) by sending an email to servicedesk-fs@uva.nl.
Depending on the location, rush and availability, it is in some cases possible to use AV equipment outside the UvA premises. Ask the Audiovisual Services for permission.

AV-set: Webcam (BRIO): present in all lecture halls
- Camera with wide viewing angle, good for displaying the whiteboard. The lecturer can freely move around in front of the foom.
- Note: the video setting should be on HD for widescreen.
- Repeat the questions from students present in the room for the students online.
- This AV set works on desktop and laptop. Please use the desktop, if present and available.

- Comes with a moving 360-degree camera. Automatically shows multiple speakers on screen at the same time. (Split screen)
- Particularly suitable for group discussions
- Please note: several people will be visible on screen (privacy sensitive).
- This AV set works on desktop and laptop. Please use the desktop, if present and available.

Do It Yourself (DIY) recordingset: fixed set on location
Lecturers can use this equipment to record knowledge clips and lectures. It comprises a fixed array with camera, lamp and microphone. Using the Kaltura Capture app, you can create do-it-yourself recordings.
No additional equipment required.
BookingIf a DIY recording set is installed in a BOL lecture hall, this space, including the equipment, can be booked in the same way as a room booking via BOL. This is usually done via the faculty staff responsible for the timetables.
