You need permission to film, take photographs or distribute flyers at a UvA location.

Requesting permission 

Make sure you have read the conditions below and request permission at least one week before the desired recording date. Use one of the following forms for this: 

Conditions for permission 

The principal condition is that filming, taking pictures or flyering should not hinder education, research or the administration of the university. For this reason the following conditions apply: 

  • In principle we will only honour requests directly related to the university, such as interviews with our scientists or recording activities at the UvA. 
  • Requests from commercial parties or for commercial purposes will not be approved. 
  • Only flyers handed out on request and sent by the UvA are allowed. 
  • Camera crew or photographers permitted to work on campus must ask students and staff whether there are objections against being recorded recognizably in advance. Any objection will be honoured. 

Making your own recordings and sharing them on social media

The UvA should be a safe environment for everyone. This is why we have clear starting points with regard to photography and distributing images of each other.
