Ensure safe use of your phone or tablet by following the tips on this page.
Tips for safe use of phone and tablet
Preferably use an access code, if possible of 6 characters; an unlock pattern is less safe as it can be more easily sniffed.
Make sure the screen saver is switched on when you are not using your phone or tablet, preferably immediately, but at least within 5 minutes.
Use the Find service (through Android Device Manager or Search iPhone), so that the device can be traced in case of loss, you can leave a message and the data can be wiped remotely.
Do not install untrustworthy apps or perform jailbreaks (this means that the manufacturer can no longer guarantee the security of the device).
Turn off Bluetooth when you do not need it.
Do not store confidential data on your phone or tablet.
Report the loss or theft of a phone or tablet containing company information immediately to the ICTS Service Desk. Make sure the password of your account (and any other accounts) is changed or blocked immediately.
Do not use open wifi networks. Do you want to do so anyway? Then always log in via a secure VPN connection.
