Tips for safe use of phone and tablet

• Preferably use an access code, if possible of 6 characters; an unlock pattern is less safe as it can be more easily sniffed.
• Make sure the screen saver is switched on when you are not using your phone or tablet, preferably immediately, but at least within 5 minutes.
• Use the Find service (through Android Device Manager or Search iPhone), so that the device can be traced in case of loss, you can leave a message and the data can be wiped remotely.
• Do not install untrustworthy apps or perform jailbreaks (this means that the manufacturer can no longer guarantee the security of the device).
• Turn off Bluetooth when you do not need it.
• Do not store confidential data on your phone or tablet.
• Report the loss or theft of a phone or tablet containing company information immediately to the ICTS Service Desk. Make sure the password of your account (and any other accounts) is changed or blocked immediately.
• Do not use open wifi networks. Do you want to do so anyway? Then always log in via a secure VPN connection.
