Eloe Kingma wrote a dissertation on medieval interpretations of the Song of Songs, which she defended in 1993. In 1994, she turned her back on history, and became the Managing Director of the Amsterdam School for Cultural Analysis (ASCA) at the University of Amsterdam. Thanks to the unruly and subversive group of people that work within ASCA, she takes great pleasure in her work. In 2018, she succeeded Marten Hidma as the coordinator of the PhD Skills training programme.
