Follow the steps to install and activate two-step verification via the Tiqr app.

Activate Tiqr app

With an activation code, you can get the Tiqr app activated. Follow the steps.

Step 1. Request a Tiqr activation code

  • Download the Tiqr app from the App Store or Google Play Store on your mobile phone.
  • Go to the SURFconext registration portal, click the 'Add Token' button and choose Tiqr.
  • You don't see a 'Add Token' button, but you do see a 'Delete' button? Then you already have a Tiqr token. Is it no longer working properly or do you have a new phone? Then remove your current token first.
  • After adding it, you will see a QR code. Scan that code with the Tiqr app on your mobile and click 'OK'
  • Enter a PIN code (or choose face recognition or fingerprint). You can't change the pin code later so remember it well.
  • You will receive a confirmation e-mail with a link. Click on the link and you will see an activation code on your computer screen.
  • Take the activation code to a service desk to have your Tiqr app activated. See step 2.

Step 2. Activate your Tiqr app at a service desk

With your activation code, your mobile phone and a valid ID, go to one of these service desks:

  • P.C. Hoofthuis Library desk
  • Library Learning Centre Roeterseiland (REC-H) desk
  • Science Park Library desk
  • Singel University Library desk
  • WPO (Workplace Support) Hogehilweg

Opening hours and addresses can be found on the contact page of the library. WPO Hogehilweg is open every working day from 09:00 to 16:30.

Are you physically unable to come to a service desk? Then call the Servicedesk ICT Services to activate your Tiqr app.

Logging in via the Tiqr app

Have you successfully set up two-step verification? Then log into an application using your UvAnetID and then a QR code. You scan that via the Tiqr app on your mobile phone. You may also be asked for a letter or number code.

New mobile phone

If you have a new mobile phone, you need to reinstall and activate the Tiqr app. First remove the Tiqr app still registered on your old phone via SURFconext's registration portal. Go to 'Overview tokens', find the activated Tiqr app on your old phone and click 'Delete'.
