This page contains information for users who log in with a guest account or organizational account of the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences in the Microsoft 365 environment of the University of Amsterdam. Do you work at the Amsterdam UMC or at ACTA? If so, follow the steps in the instructions for guests / external colleagues.
To be able to sign in to the Microsoft 365 environment, a registered guest account is required. If you were added to a team in Microsoft Teams or by an administrator, you’ve received an invitation to activate your account.
When using a guest account, you need to add an additional authentication method. To do this, use the Microsoft Authenticator app. Other authentication methods will not work. Setting up this authentication method is explained in the instruction card 'Use Microsoft Teams as a guest'.
The manuals below explain the steps you need to go through to be able to use Microsoft Teams as a guest / external colleague, including setting up the Microsoft Authenticator app.
Guests/externs with a Microsoft account can open shared files simply by clicking on the link.
Guests/externs without a Microsoft account must first enter a code. This is self-explanatory, but see also the guide below:
By default, AUAS employees not working for the shared service departments do not have access to the UvA environment. To gain access you will need to be invited by an UvA employee or administrator.
Employees of Shared Service Units
In most cases, employees of Shared Service Units (Administrative Centre, Facility Services, ICT Services, Student Affairs, Library, and the Innovation Exchange Amsterdam) employed by the AUAS already have a guest account at the University of Amsterdam. These employees can use their AUAS e-mail address to sign in.
If, as an employee of the Shared Service Units, you do not have access to the environment and should have it, you can contact the Service Desk ICT Services via:
