Film and photography at the UvA

To record a film or take pictures on any of the UvA’s premises, you will need official approval. This applies to interviews, items for audiovisual media and (portrait) photos for published and online media, as well as for recordings and photos such as programme films or different kinds of promotional material for which you (or your division) is the contractor.

You can request approval from the events coordinator at UvA's Facility Services using the ‘Approval request form for filming or taking pictures on UvA premises’ below.

None of these activities may in any way hinder teaching, research and operational management at the UvA. The university only approves requests with a clear link to the UvA, such as an interview with one of its researchers or a report about an activity taking place on its premises. Requests with a commercial purpose will not be approved.

Please note: in order to process your request, you will need to submit it no later than one week before the date on which you wish to film or photograph.
