People with a disability must be able to get the best possible use of the UvA's buildings.
What can I expect?
The UvA's buildings must satisfy the statutory requirements regarding people with a disability. Consequently, buildings where teaching activities are conducted must at a minimum have the following facilities:
one lift that can be accessed by wheelchair users
one toilet for disabled persons with reduced mobility
hearing loop in large halls for the hearing impaired
parking spaces for persons with a disability at around 50 metres from the main entrance (of buildings with parking spaces).
Do you have questions about accessibility?
Have you experienced barriers to accessibility or do you want to know what’s being done to improve accessibility? Please contact the FS Service Desk.
Requesting assistance
Assistance in the building will be provided by a staff member on request. You can request assistance from the FS Service Desk.
Assistance during emergencies
If the lifts are out of use, e.g. during an emergency, company emergency response officers will escort people with a disability to the exit via the stairs.
