All UvA staff involved in teaching and research have an individual responsibility to uphold standards and values of academic integrity. The University of Amsterdam endorses the principles of the Netherlands Code of Conduct for Academic Practice (VSNU 2004, revised in 2012). This Code obliges scientific practitioners not only to respect the principles of meticulousness, reliability, verifiability, impartiality and independence, but also to do everything within their power to promote and ensure compliance with these principles in their academic environment.
If you have any complaints or questions relating to academic integrity you can contact the University's Confidential Adviser for Academic Integrity. Also see the UvA's Academic Integrity Complaints Regulations, describing the appropriate measures in the event of a possible violation of academic standards.
